Chechen Jihadi’s in Syria thrown out of ISIS

On September 4th a video was published featuring a small group of mainly Chechen Jihadi’s. This group is led by the Chechen Emir Sayfu’llah. The video announces the formation of Mujahidin al-Kawkaz fi as-Sham. They claim they left ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and as-Sham)  to form their own group.

Firstly it looked like news. A group leaving Jaysh al-Muhajirin wa’l-Ansar and hereby turning it’s back on ISIS

This is noted in the comments of the video:

Amongst other things this Chechen group claims they leave ISIS because ISIS is a bunch of Takfiri …

Here’s a translation of the guy translating into Arabic:
(0:50) “We are here now in the land of “al-Sham”, for the purpose of jihad in the way of god, and our brigade is named “The Mujahedeen of the Caucasus and the Sham”, and with us are our brothers from all over the world and from every (religious) denomination, and we have left our homes to help the people of the Sham, as the almighty has said “And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, “Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?” (Sura’t al-Nisa’, Aya 75)”
(1:43) We are leaving the brigade “ISIS”, and we and our brigade are now independent, and our name is “The Mujahedeen of the Caucasus and the Sham”.
(2:12) With respect to our group, we are autonomous. ..What is this mean? We’re not with an-Nusra, or other brigades, we’re independent.
(2:33) God-willing, we call on God to bring victory to the faith, in the Sham, and that our numbers grow and grow in the days to come, and that our brothers from all over the world come to meet up with us.

So, all very interesting. Chechens leaving ISIS. Chechens turning their back on what they call Takfiri Jihadism. About a month ago another version of this story was published.

Here is a quote: In a surprise announcement, the emir of Jaish al-Muhajireen wal Ansar, Umar Shishani, made a statement explaining his decision to expel Emir Seifullah along with his 27 men from the group ( According to Emir Shishani, the decision to distance Jaish al-Muhajireen wal Ansar from Emir Seifullah and his small group was taken at a meeting of the top- and mid-level commanders of the jamaat. Emir Abu Umar Shishani accused the splinter group of embezzlement and stirring up resentment against the North Caucasians among the local population. The jamaat leader said that the splinter group indulged in takfir (apostasy).

So now we got two Chechen brigade leaders accusing eachother of Takfir …

Who told you again that the war in Syria isn’t that complicated ?
