The ar-Raqqa executions ~ Confirmation of the Islamic State in Iraq and as-Sham

Yesterday several videos of the execution of three men in the North Eastern city ar-Raqqa, Syria, were released on YouTube.

Analysis of the video was already made by @Brown_Moses

What follows is a translation of the video, shot from two angles.

Angle 1:

This first video seems to be filmed by a guy just passing by, getting interested in what is going on.

Angle 2:

The second recording is far more professional and even carries the logo of the Islamic State in Iraq and as-Sham

Highlights of the translation:

Thanks to Allah, Lord of all mankind, and peace and blessings on leader of all fighters, all combatants, our Prophet, his family, companions, and all those who follow him with kindness till the day of judgement.

Allah The Almighty says:
قاتلوهم ……
Qur’an, Sura at-Tawbah, 9, verse 14

Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people.
The crimes committed by the tyrant Bashar, are still on the rise day after day, and he is showing most torture and harassment to People of the Sunnah.
He didn’t differentiate between children or woman, young men or elderly, with the hands of his troops and his criminal Shabihas, of the Alawites sect, and those of the Sunni Apostates (reverts), and their allies.
And not last of their atrocities committed in Banyas, And our answer to their crimes committed, and in revenge to the Free women of Banyas and Homs and doing with what The Almighty said:
فمن إعتدي عليكم ……

Qur’an, al-Baqarah, Sura 2, verse 194

… and whoever wrongs you, wrong him in a similar way …
And so with our intention to get closer to God Almighty (Allah), with those coward Alawites, so I ask Allah, The Great, to accept our and your deeds.
And we ask the Almighty to grant his peace and blessings upon his prophet, Muhammed, his family and companions.

The Islamic state of Iraq and Sham.

Other proof of ISIS was already shown in video’s like this one, posted on YouTube on April 25th:

Yet, these executions, in front of the banner of al-Qaeda in Iraq, seem to confirm what was known for over a month; Jabhat an-Nusra is no less than the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda in Iraq. ISI, the Islamic State in Iraq can be called ISIS from now on, the Islamic State in Iraq and as-Sham.

Important update dd May 28th :

*** Raqqa province: An activist from Homs city has identified to the SOHR the identity of 2 of the 3 men publicly executed on 14/5/2013 by the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham in Raqqah city. The 2 men are Mustafa al-Jani, a dentist by profession, and his nephew Iyad Nawfal, who was a teacher. They are civilians from the village of al-Ashrafiya, north Reef Homs, and they come from a Muslim Alawite background. They are not, as stated by others, officers in the Syrian army or in the armed forces in any way. ***

So whatever happened to Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani’s April 10th statement declaring that Jabhat an-Nusrah maintain its independence from the ISI leadership and continue to fight under its own banner? Was that it simply a genuine misunderstanding now straightened out by al-Zawahiri and the senior AQ leadership, or a temporary muddling of the situation to assuage Syria’s other insurgent groups and supporters? The video above not only carries the ISI logo, but so does the pickup truck, indicating that JN now openly displays its new ISIS identity as an arm of the Islamic State of Iraq: this could equally be Fallujah or Baqubah in 2006 or 2007.

  4. […] And indeed mid-May more and more reports like these kept appearing. Perhaps the most striking was the killing of three alleged al-Assad officers in the strategic city of ar-Raqqa. On May 14 the Islamic State in Iraq and as-Sham appeared on of the central squares in ar-Raqqa, the black flag on the monument wasn’t the usual Nusra flag but the al-Qaeda one. (See previous post). slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end?
I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

  9. SYRIANA says:

This is Russia feeding this ISIS in an impressing cover up operation. Russia send the money, the weapons and the milicias from Chechnia and other places to destroy the Syrian Revolution from inside. Of course the ISIS do not know they serve Assad and Russia.
